Matt Elliss: History + Recent Clients

Matt Elliss, Axis' main producer / engineer, has worked with a wide variety of artists across a huge spectrum of musical styles. For example, in one summer he went from producing the Groop Dogdrill album 'Every Six Seconds' (very aggressive rock) to co-writing and producing the Louise album 'Elbow Beach' (R&B flavoured pop) to engineering Grand Theft Audio album tracks (metal with grooves!). All three projects required totally different approaches and styles. 'Elbow Beach' achieved top 10 chart status, as did both singles released from it ('2 Faced' peaked at number 3) - all co-written and produced by Matt at Axis.

Matt has also remixed several successful groups including the number 1 hit for Eternal 'I Wanna be the Only One' and the Honeyz top 10 hit 'Never Let you Down'. He has recently been writing & producing pop / R&B tracks with Supersister, Catalina, Faculty, and Chi.

On the rock / alternative front, Matt has a long track record of producing exciting cutting-edge records, gaining many rave reviews for his work with Groop Dogdrill, Rico and Cha Cha Cohen. Matt is able to combine his hip-hop background (he was the founder member and writer in the hip-hop act Honky who released two albums on ZTT & Sony in the mid-1990's) with his enthusiasm for rock to great effect, producing a distinctive and original blend of sounds and styles.
