Studio Equipment

Axis recording studio is a purpose-built, state-of-the art 2000 square foot facility offering the best combination of digital and analogue recording. The studio features an acoustically designed control room with air conditioning, spacious live room, custom designed vocal booth as well as recreational areas to relax and re-charge.

Following is a summary of the main equipment available in the studio.


Recording:

  • Pro Tools Mix Cubed system - Mac G4 dual processor, multiple drives, loads of plug-ins, 4 x Apogee AD8000  a/d & d/a convertors…..and most importantly ROCK SOLID running all day every day

Desk:

  • Amek 'big' - 56 inputs with 'supatrue' automation & total recall

Note: All computers and fan-assisted power supplies are situated in a machine room resulting in near total silence in the control room. Anyone who uses computers regularly will appreciate this!


Outboard:

Apart from over 75 software plug-ins (including Amp farm, Bomb Factory, SoundReplacer, Joe Meek, Pultec, Auto tune, Focusrite, Waves Bundle, Lexiverb, EchoFarm, D-fi, Soundblender, Pitchdoctor, Channelstrip, MoogerFooger, Realverb, Access Virus, TC, Aphex, BrunoReso, Pitch n Time, FilterBank, CompressorBank,   and many others), the studio offers a large selection of hardware outboard including:

Monitoring / Mastering:

  • 2 large Quad amps feeding NS10M's and large 15" Tannoy Golds in acoustically designed enclosures. Also AKG Auratone style mini monitors
  • Cd-r mastering via Toast / Jam or Pioneer stand alone CD Recorder
  • 2 Panasonic 3800 dat machines + Technics SL1200 turntable, Sony Minidisk, Denon CD player
